My old school marm, whose knowledge was ample,
had wit also, and here is a sample:
She once said, with some tact,
seeing all that I lacked,
'You can serve as a great bad example.'

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This was written especially for the Poetry Society of Indiana 2023 annual contest. The category called for the poem to be a limerick with the subject of education, mentoring, etc. It took second place in the category.
