**** If this IS about a Down's/Down Syndrome person, I suggest making that clear in a Poet's Notes. I see NO P.N. now. ; ( bri

I give 4 stars, BUT i HOPE READERS also read MY COMMENTS, if, in fact, this 'child' of the poem has Down's/Down Syndrome. I think there was a male American actor who had D. S. bri ;)

'A million joys'? ? THAT IS A LOT! ! ! I would say 'to God's Kingdom'. I wonder if the last line is to be taken literally or figuratively. I think the author does NOT NEED a 'key'.

stanza 5: 'Brought a million joys' To stay in the 'present verb tense' for the stanza, I'd use 'brings' or 'does bring'...a million joys.

stanza 4: let the tears flow if they 'must', but check the diaper! ! In the days of cloth diapers, diaper pins could (I think) open and jab a baby (probably rarely) . Don't forget to check for changing diaper and feeding if crying occurs! ! !

Love and kindness of a mother's heart shine through the poem. While mother loves and protects her child, the child too brings immense joy and comfort to a mother.

R M, You told me recently of a friend? who had/has a 'special needs' child, Down's Syndrome & autism ***. Are you writing of such a child? (cont.)

RM, I've heard 'walking on egg shells', but 'walking through egg shells' is close enough for me; it doesn't sound like 'fun'.

Not words but very deep feelings is what this, incredibly land deeply loving poem is written with. One of the best ever written on motherly true love and devotion.
