Always A Candle Extinguished Poem by M. A Heathcote

Always A Candle Extinguished

Love was always a candle extinguished.
Leaving little or no afterglow.
Leaving little known from long ago
But it was different instantly with you.
It was like discovering the Star of Bethlehem.
And after each answered prayer.
All that could be heard was a holy amen.
Echoing again and again
In the chambers of your heart and soul

Love was always a candle extinguished.
Leaving little or no afterglow.
Till it was seeded, flourishing after snow and ice
Till it had been incarcerated and put on the coals
But it was different instantly with you.
It was like discovering the Star of Bethlehem.
And after each answered prayer.
All that could be heard was a holy amen.
Echoing again and again
In the chambers of your heart and soul

Love was always a candle extinguished.
Leaving little or no afterglow.
But with you, it was a supernova.
Two binary stars are now locked in orbit.
For always and forever, together.
