Also Known As Nile

One end of the river in the sky
is so far to the south
that the Greeks could not have seen
the large end star;
nor probably many before it.

Adding those to what they could see,
the sky river is as long as the Nile,
which, let us now call Eridanus.

After the large end star,
let's call Lake Victoria, Achernar.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
The River constellation, Eridanus. As there are many variations to stories in Greek myth, it's quite possible for Achernar to be source as well as mouth.
COMMENTS OF THE POEM

Humans have a propensity to name everything from close up to billion of light years away. A thinking womans poem.
