It doesn’t sound awful because it was written in August. More so I’ve greatly enriched my English alphabet with new words. It’s only such a pity that I’ve lost five years. I think that The New Webster Dictionary may envy you.

Your alphabet poem is great, except for P, far too unbelievable. M on the other had sounds very true. Loved Q, and had to pull out my dictionary for X (I'll let you go with xchanging, X is a tough letter) , and of course you found a word that means sword shaped. And there should be more W. You ask about Y, I don't see how Yellowing fits, but is sounds good.
