Greedy men cruelly inflicted wounds and cuts all over Like hungry wild dogs tear off flesh from limbs. They filled the sore cuts with polluting stuffs My banks of sand bed turned to bed of mud and wastes. with a drop of pure water please wet my lips. my dear poet you are great. thank u dear. tony

Thank Dr. Tony for the appreciating comments. I fear, a day will come even the rivers carrying pure water will have to beg for a drop of pure water to wet the dry throat if man continues greedy exploitaion of natural resources

Brilliant versification. Compresses a wealth of meaning. It makes us stop a while and join the river's lament.

Thank you Leela. Rhetorics on preservation of environmental serenity are of no use, sincere efforts are the remedy

This poem makes us aware of how dangerous the pollutions are. And it gives us a warning that if we ruin nature, nature will eventually destroy us.

A heart touching expression on pollution and nature has been made astutely. We are not getting pure water to drink or pure air to inhale. Here I cite.....Kindly do a favour to this dying darling of nature Please wet my dry lips and hot throat/ With a drop of pure water Thank you dear Nair for sharing this gem.10

Thank you great brother. Rivers are a source of energy and inspiration Their peaceful nature and beauty attracts everyone. They are really the cradle of civilisation. They are the source of pure drinking water. They are the link of distant places. Yet people do not give the due importance.
