Yours is a mature view in this poem, Suzanne, a better one than I mostly hold. There’s a burden in leadership which I know in a small way from positions I’ve held. But it seems to me that often those who seek it, who seek the power, are the last ones who should have it. Interestingly, in Bible stories, when God who knows calls, those called—like Moses, Gideon, David—don’t want the responsibility. How different from those today who crave it and whose most stellar quality is ambition. -Glen
