Alone In Old Age Poem by Colin Ian Jeffery

Alone In Old Age

Alone in old age facing each day
Bleak, grey, each one the same
Following the same routine
Taking medication, hours fleeting

Parents and sibling long gone
Grave deep but not forgot
Memories and precious dreams
When I see them once more.

Mind active but not the body
Arthrosis making steps difficult
Never going outdoors
Life moving towards the final darkness.
