Alone Poem by Jude Ogunade

Alone

ALONE!
I sit alone, crowded.
I stay alert, bonded.
I see the sky scattered,
As their clouds come shattered!
Alone?

I hear the bird, chirping.
I see the stream, strolling.
The forests, perturbing.
The hills, imposing.
Alone?

Amidst the mild traffic
Amongst the mild public
I sensed sad urgency
Laddering to lunacy
Alone...

Men mingling in myriads
Face: half fresh, half tired
Hurrying up, hurrying down
Sowing the seeds of time
Alone.

The brisk breeze caresses
And its winds, embracing
As the goats call all: MEN!
Men! Men! towards their pen.
Alone?

Yes, the evil men do
And the good they do too
Follow them to their graves
Whether timid or brave.
Alone!
