Alone Poem by Sanjib Saha

Alone

The dim light inside the house flickers softly.
The oil in the lantern has run out. The air is lifeless.
The darkness within the room yearns to escape,
but even more so,
the outside darkness rushes in.
A person doesn't walk alone;
the path accompanies them. Leaving footprints behind,
they ponder:
one day, piercing the darkness, they'll journey farther, farther away, like a star, into an even vaster darkness.

No need to search for darkness;
it resides within, gnawing incessantly.
But light demands courage to be found.
Just as the universe unfolds
while searching for a tiny dot,
and within that universe,
you and I drift alone! '
