Very beautiful exposition of poetic imagery.in the plexus time space & distance, well textured along with symmetry, suggests the sense of ingenuity expressed in the poem - the acceptance of valentine from a souless bird & finally trans-assimilation of gestures suigeneris. well expressed Sandra, love it how its flow. Another treasure Sandra, you are an artist without a doubt. Melvina
Beautiful, just balm for the soul willing to receive the gift of its freshness, wisdom and insight. Yes, Sandra yes! Bill Grace
Your keen ability to take a simple idea or theme and create a firework display of imagery around it & within it, is truly facinating...Sandra, this, as always...is yet another fine example of your superior artistry. FjR
There are lots of interesting comments added to this poem and most worthy of them I must say. I loved this poem, it had a calm and understated quality about it. Upon re-reading it you gleaned so much more on the second read. It has a very delicate and soothing effect, almost like I was lazing on a sun-lounger watching the scene of the bird across the skies.... Just lovely. HG: -) xx
This poem is as beautiful as the beautiful red bird, The Cardinal, when in flight it soars or just perches on the limb of a tree. Such beautiful imagery. mm. :)
really beautiful exposition of poetic imagery.in the plexus time space & distance, well textured along with symmetry, the theme suggests the sense of ingenuity expressed in the poem - the acceptance of valentine from a souless bird & finally trans-assimilation of gestures suigeneris. congrats
this was excellent Sandra, red birds gained soul through your poem. well done! HBH
Home sweet home; how do you leave this perfect place one day? everything is home and home is everything everybody should get a home but not a house?
Evocative, picturesque and with perfect rythmn. Really enjoyed it. Best regards, Patrick
A phoenix per-chance, much talent in this, a cast and crew revealed by you love Duncan X
Fabulous poem, very evocative. The imagery, the sense that you felt something a stranger could only guess at, excited my admiration.
i liked this poem very much-the metaphors are especially well done. it has the innocence of simplicity; yet is complex and sophisticated at the same time. thanks for the opportunity to read your poetry. tovli
I really like this poem, Sandra, for its originality, quietness-or should I say, subdued emotion, contained feeling...it has a certain je ne sais .....oh, yes, and lyrical qualities...such nice sound along with beautiful imagery. I look forward to reading more of your work.
i love subtleties in poem. plain poems are for children.
Such a simple trigger - a Valentine's card - and yet what a beautiful bouquet of poetic flowers grow from it. Your 'soulless' red bird is particularly evocative 'And yet I choose it for my metaphor.' Sandra, you and metaphor are like Domingo and Pavarotti. You sing beautifully together. Love, Allie ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
