All jokes do not lend themselves to limerick form.

At this time I would like to attempt to explain wny some of my limericks do not really work.I usually start with an old wheeze or joke and try to put it in limerick form (sort of like a daily puzzle) Some of the jokes simply are not material for a limerick and better left in short form as is.

You are right, Wes. Not all jokes can be made into limericks, but many of them can be turned into poems of other sorts. Most of my poems started out as jokes. Some of my best ones are not posted on Poem Hunter, but are entered into contests. Four of them won cash prizes this year.

You do what you do and let us sort it out. I have thrown away my share of things I started to write because I wasn't pleased, or had 'wasted' days trying to perfect. But a Limerick is meant to be odd.
