Alien Encounter Poem by Deluke Muwanigwa

Alien Encounter

Alien Encounter

It is like we met before
Somewhere out there
I knew you
And you knew me

Then when we encountered each other
On terra firma
Young as we were
Telepathy hooked us up
I knew you
And you knew me

Mountains rose between us
Uncrossable chasms
Fear of the rules of humanity
Rules of chastity
But I knew you knew me
And you knew I knew you

Then came that day of nebulous inebriation
We met out there in outer space
And I knew it was your face
The pimple and the dimble
The bleeding gums of scurvy
Having traversed the universe
But i knew it was you
and you knew it was me

Who knew two particles of stardust
can meet at long last
Never having met in the past
In the most unexpected galaxy
to consummate a fantasy
All the stars getting brighter that day
The moon dimming like in a theatre
for this first and final act

The alien encounter running counter to reality
The alien attraction
of two souls who met before we met
And know they will meet again
Again and again
For, when we met on terra firma
I knew you
and you knew me
