Albert Einstein 58 - Einstein's Theory Of General Relativity & The Big Bang Model Poem by Geeta Radhakrishna Menon

Albert Einstein 58 - Einstein's Theory Of General Relativity & The Big Bang Model

Rating: 5.0

Though decades have passed,
Since, Einstein published his theories,
Scientists have observed, countless of phenomena
Matching Einstein's ‘Theory of General Relativity'.

Einstein published a paper in 1918,
Wherein he had predicted that 'if something drastic
Happens to the matter, so that the stress tensor changes,
Then, the curvature of the spacetime will change.
Gravitational waves would occur.'
'If it happens to a star, it can cause ripples or waves
in spacetime. As the star gets older, it runs out of fuel,
But it continues to burn. When this happens,
Due to the force of gravity, the star implodes.'
This is known as 'Supernova Explosion'!

Two American Astronomers, Joe Taylor and Russel Hulse,
Found a curious pair of Pulsar stars.
Based on Einstein's ‘The General Theory of Relativity'
They began their observations in 1974 and by 1978,
They showed the system should emit gravitational waves,
Which would alter the orbits of the Pulsar stars.'
Just as Einstein had professed in ‘General Relativity Theory.'
Taylor and Hulse were able to confirm that the stars did
Emit gravitational radiation just as Einstein had predicted.
Taylor & Hulse won the Nobel prize in 1993.

The Einstein Cross, a quasar in the Pegasus constellation
According to ESA - ‘European Space Agency',
Is an excellent example of gravitational lensing,
With far reaching implications across Astrophysics Research.
Francis Everitt- Gravity Probe B Principal Investigator
Of Stanford University, in a NASA statement of the mission -
Said: 'Imagine the earth as if it were immersed in honey.
As the planet rotates, the honey around it would swirl,
And is the same with space and time.' 'Gravity Probe -B
Confirmed two of the most profound predictions of Einstein's Universe!

The ‘Cosmic Microwave Background' has been observed
On many occasions by different researchers and explorers.
A famous ‘Cosmic Background Explorer'- ‘COBE' satellite
Mapped the sky in 1990. Several others followed in their footsteps.
‘Wilkinson Microwave Background Probe' named after,
Bob Dicke's student, Dave Wilkinson, has been of help too,
In detecting tiny fluctuations of Radiation.
Thus, Einstein's ‘Theory of General Relativity', has
Now, become a much sought-after application and
A boon for the world of modern technology of applied science!

The Big Bang Model continues its research
On the super movement of the Universe!
Dr. Albert Einstein's ‘General Relativity Theory' continues
To glow with a blend of harmony, beauty and science!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Here is a sincere attempt to write the biographical life and works of Dr. Albert Einstein. Poems 51 to 58 are purely based on Dr. Einstein's work on the " Theory of Relativity" which started in 1905. The journey of this work spanned over 11 years. What began as " Special Relativity" progressed to " General Relativity" . He finally concluded his work in 1916 and it was published in Annalen Der Physik. Many scientists followed in his footsteps to discover many more modern revelations in Physics and Astronomy. His theory is a part of every applied science or technology. The journey of ‘Relativity Theory' is presented through Poems 51,52,53,54,55,56,57 & 58. These poems have been the most difficult to write, as it required understanding of Einstein Research - his greatest inventions in Physics. All information and inputs on ‘Dr. Einstein's Theory of Relativity' are taken from the book " Albert Einstein - A Biography by Alice Calaprice & Trevor Lipscombe, From Chapter 7 of the book entitled - ‘The Road to General Relativity' and the Internet sources as well. For detailed or further explanation of Albert Einstein's Research Papers on this topic, please read books published by Princeton University Press.1. ‘Albert Einstein - A biography' by Alice Calaprice & Trevor Lipscombe 2019.2. Collected Papers of Albert Einstein (CPAE) various editors and translators, Vol.1 to 9, Princeton, N.J, Princeton University Press.3. ‘Einstein's Miraculous Year' by Alice Calaprice and Sam Elworthy 4. Albert Einstein - New York, Viking. Dear Friends and Poets, Thank you for reading these poems on the life and work of Dr.Albert Einstein. I remain most grateful and thankful for your beautiful feedback and comments! Much obliged!
