Age-Old Classmates Poem by Kesav Venkat Easwaran

Age-Old Classmates

Rating: 5.0

Classmates?
I do not find many

Sorry
A sorry-looking group here

I find only
hydrated balloons
tied onto stones
made out of
ego and indifference
huffing and puffing
no desire to rise up
no zest

For that reason
what is the fun in holding
online meetings
or a joint physical assembly?

It defeats my wit
my reason
my understanding

If you can't utter
a letter or two
in response
using your fingertips
what are you going
to achieve
seated face to face mute
no- to open out
cut sorry figures,
you would,
or do you want us
to get self reintroduced
on a New Platform?

This is brilliant, Kesav....Indeed, so much in the environment is turning the living into stone!
