Ageing Poem by Phil Soar

Ageing

Rating: 5.0

The hairs upon my head are missing now
though growing in some places new to me
the ears don't function as they used to do
and my sight just isn't what it used to be

My knees have quite a creak when I get up
and crack at just the slightest strenous task
I'm no longer fit and agile as a pup
there are lots of things right now I'd rather mask

The skin is dry, requiring certain creams
Libido is a word I use in scrabble
an erection is a thing I have in dreams
and sex something in which I seldom dabble

getting old is like a waiting game
until my very being's run its course
It's like warm dessert or apple pie
requiring just a touch of ageing sauce

Lovely poem with a top class humour that comes after the aging process begins to end. Thanks a lot.

You're only a youngster yet, wait until you're my age. I don't even play scrabble any more. Enjoyed the humour Phil. Keep it up! Ha ha.
