The Thought of ‘Growing Old' in Life
Is what we must all endure,
For some may live Healthy and Long,
And for others ~ we pray for a Cure.
When we are Young ~ we wish to Age ~
For Elders can do more, we see.
But as we reach our Prime, we know,
Our End ~ is not ‘an Eternity'.
We are told to ‘Number our Days',
To take Life ‘Slow' and not ‘Fast',
That we may enjoy our Life on this Earth.
Until it's the Time ~ ‘To Breathe our Last'.
We may be fortunate to live our Life,
Healthy and ‘Free from Pain',
But Others may endure Suffering and more,
Each day ~ and again ~ and again.
The ‘Fear of the Unknown' is with me each day,
It's not that I'm afraid of dying.
I wish to live longer and write more for you,
But without Pain ~ which leaves me ~ Crying.
