Age Not A Number Poem by Vinaya Joseph

Age Not A Number

They say age is but a number, a mere insight.
Yet in the market where jobs abound,
This notion falters, nowhere to be found.

Years of wisdom, etched in lines,
Echo through resumes, like ancient signs.
Skills honed finely, experience vast,
A treasure trove of the seasoned past.

But through the gatekeepers' scrutinizing eyes,
Youth's bright spark often gets the prize.
The seasoned soul, with knowledge deep,
Finds promises broken, hopes they cannot keep.

Innovation thrives on fresh, they claim,
Ignoring the seasoned, it's a numbers game.
Each wrinkle seen, a mark of decline,
In a world that worships the youthful sign.

Yet let not this truth dim the seasoned glow,
For in their hearts, a fierce flame does grow.
Age may be counted, but it's strength we must see,
Beyond mere numbers, lies true quality.

So, in this journey, though the road is tough,
The spirit within must remain enough.
For in the end, it's not the age we wear,
But the value we bring, the wisdom we share.
