I missed you the other day
When the dew left its diamond glitter upon the grass
And the squirrels and frogs were frolicking merry
When the silence of daybreak calmed

What makes this poem so powerful is the list of simple pleasures we take for granted are diminished when there's a loved-one missing, unable to share them with you any longer. Your poem made me cry for those I've lost and yes, maybe one or two of those tears were for me. Good poem. Effective.

Theodora, this is a beautifully heart-felt tribute to a great friend. I am so sorry for your loss. I can truly empathize with you. Earlier this year, I lost a friend through breast cancer. Like you, some of the grieving process was by writing a poem or two. Perhaps, if you are so inclined, you may like to look at my poem, Is There Dancing In Heaven?

Hi Theo A nice poem. Promising a new day Of peace and contentment beautiful. Such hopes and promises keep the world livable. But, Theo, Why dont you tell us more about Renee Nicole? AndI have posted a series of six poems on the story of 'Yayati', narrated on the sidelines of the great Indian Epic, Mahabharat. Each poem is a monologue by a by a character, and I have tried to tell the entire story through these monologues. The story as such is from Mahabharat. But, the poetry (if at all you find any in my write) , is mine. I have taken some liberties here and there, and deviated from the original script. Hope great Vyaasa forgives me. I invite you read the poems.

Beautiful poem about rain and the absence of someone you are about on a day full of beauty that should be perfect but for their absence. Beautiful poetic imagery expressed.

Susan, your kind words have made my day. Try to check my writes daily and thank those who have commented. Although, i have fallen short on that way too many times. Am grateful that i got my message across to you. Knew i needed to explain why i wrote this and finally was able to. Again, i thank you from the bottom of my heart...am now going over to your work and read some of your brilliance.

You accomplished your mission. You made your reader, who knew nothing of your friend, feel the sudden hole in an otherwise perfect day. Excellent build-up and we were tripping lightly through that day the sunrise ever warmed With its gentle rays dancing across my skin Giving me hints of a fluffy white cloud or two Promising an entire new day and then in a few more words we felt that almost unbearable sadness in our own hearts as we remember losing the ones we loved. Poignant and beautiful piece.

This poem was written when we lost a very, very good friend. Her name was Renee Nicole- and she left this life way to early. It left an almost unbearable sadness in our hearts.
