After Me Poem by Randy McClave

After Me

First they came for the immigrants
With their hate and lies and wickedness,
But, I didn't see or said a thing
But, joy to my heart it did bring.

Then they came after the transgender's and the gays
Unto my government I gave all praise,
I am glad that they no longer do exist
At their memories and lifestyle I shook my fist.

Then they came after the needy and the poor
We don't need them here anymore,
No more money or help to them will be sent
The way I believe life and our government was meant.

Then they came after our religion
Because, they wouldn't follow or support them,
Now we have an elected savior and lord
For which I am all aboard.

Then they came after every political rival
For their and our country's ultimate survival,
And here proud and patriotically I stood
I believed and trusted and praised them all as I should

Then as I stood praising and supporting them constantly
They then came after people like me,
Now since everyone else is gone
We were told to pick their fruits, pay taxes and mow their lawn.
