It grows more bitter than the sea, For all its peace. /// after the love everything sometimes suppose to drink the bitterness of earth and sometimes suppose to living in the highest kingdom of paradise; the feelings of love such wonderful power that it can either kill or immortalize ///
Well expressed thoughts in persuasive poetic expressions with artistic brilliance...........................................
The aftermath of passion and its embers, best break up poem ever.
You were the wind and I the sea - There is no splendor any more, I have grown listless as the pool Beside the shore. a very fine poem. tony
An outstanding poem throwing light on the aftermath in the lives of a lover and his beloved and vice a versa after lapse of a long period and dwindling affinity between them though they share life as life partners.Well deserved modern poem of the Day.
Broken love and lost splendor at times grows bitter than the sea. wonderful imagery
Lost love! ! No more magic words. Thanks for sharing this poem with us.
You were the wind and I the sea /// love there is as an eternal relation

You were the wind and I the sea - There is no splendor any more, I have grown listless as the pool Beside the shore. excellent....
Such magic such love has ended. It seems without the wind and the sea, the choice of the pool proves ill taken. Is Vachel Lindsey the sea and Sarah Teasdale the pool? The pool obviously needs the storms of the sea not sanctuary.
This is one of my favorites of Sara Teasdale she seems to have the ability to write to the core of life at times, very bitter/sweet. Bonnie
Wow.. this captures the melancholy element of age true in many things.
