This poem can be interpreted in 100 different ways and therein lies the excellence of this composition. Well done.
I see a reflection of life's moments... a still frame of unknown possibilities left to soar beyond one's grasp... held captive only in the mind's eye...
Very well said to give the readers their configuration with the title a clue.. you must give a sequell cheers...regards
The first two lines evoke speed but the last three a kind of frozen stillness. We don't know why HE is driving so fast - to get away from HER? I hope not because she is painfully smitten. The stillness of those last lines is not her choice, it's not the stillness of rest. but rather of having no option for action. What will she do now? Wait? Search for him in familiar spaces? Find someone else? However brief this poem is, I've come to care about this woman. I want her to be happy! But I don't think this situation is on the path to her happiness.
Beautiful tanka on risky life having astute depiction has been shared nicely. Thanks for sharing.
