MEMORIES IN LOVE
I still recall the time I first met you.
How my heart skipped its rhythmic beat,
My mind consumed by cascading thoughts
Unknown to me before, full of desire
That we again should meet.
I still recall my yearning, longing wish to touch,
To feel the warm sensation of your lips on mine,
That stimulating tingle I still treasure now.
My willing arms I offered you in love's embrace
To which I dedicated all my life for all our time.
I still recall your sparkling eyes and kindly smile.
The unblemished complexion of your youth
Displayed no need for jewels, or vain adornment.
Matchless, you were to me perfection personified.
No one denied this single truth.
I still recall your warm endearing presence at all times
My life's most dear companion, strong and true.
No words have needed pass between us for all was understood.
Our times together have let us read each other as an open book.
All days alone are empty without you.
And we are still together now, forevermore our single vow.
Over the years it seems we've changed
As we moulded more each to the other.
Sadly our lives will fade one day
But love endures in many ways, there's not one moment I'd exchange.
