I believe that this poem is about Jesus. Death and the Father's lodge. Life and the Diety. Resurrection and the Crown. It all sounds very much like she is speaking about Jesus.

She sounds afraid of dying or someone who had died. I think in that era. Superstition was a reality and part of their life. Excellent poem.
