Afraid.
Humanity's
afraid.
Afraid
of itself.
Afraid
of what
it's capable
of.
Trillions
spent
each year
on military
expenditures.
Weapons.
Armies.
Death and
destruction.
Humanity
protecting
itself from
itself.
Insane.
Trillions
that could
be spent
feeding
the hungry.
Housing
the homeless.
Spent
advancing
the human
condition.
Not in
destruction.
Not in
death.
Millions
over the
eons killed
defending
hilltops.
Whole
generations
wiped out.
Insanity.
On the
precipice.
Fork
in the
road.
Time to
grow up.
6) After reading this poem, I wonder: Is this why John Prophet turn his back to the world? (Smiles)
5) great philosophocal poem. top score and onto my Favourites. All the Best, dear Poet.
4) Our philosophy again says 'Thyena thyaktena Bhunjeetha' - take from the nature what is just enough for your survival, not to satisfy your greed. This is exactly Gandhiji said: Nature has enough to sate everone's hunger, but not the greed of a few.
3) so, there will be no wars, no deaths in the battlefields. No more haulocausts, No Auschwitz, No Hiroshima, No Nagasanki, no Kurukshetra. No nothing, but just the human beings, living Universal Brotherhood. respecting every form of life But, then the inept rulers won't survive their misdeeds.
'Patriotism' is a misnomer. same with 'sedition'. Hindu philosophy preaches 'Vasudhaiva Kudumbakam'- the entire world is my family. When we start believing and practicing this, the man-made boundaries of nations vanish. Even nations vanish. no patriotism, no sedition.. There remains just one Earth

A poem with wonderful insight. Wars are games played by selfish and greedy 'leaders'/rulers. At the top everyone is alone and scared of losing his/her seat. to save it, he/she indulge in wars, invoking 'patriotism' among the people he or she rules
