What a great concept, 'metallic fish'. Illusion is perfectly addressed in this powerful little poem!

On the illusion of wings or a metallic fish, or a celestial vault? there are many interpretations of this Haiku if we take the title off, it is so strong, deep and rare topic at the same time. Exquisite way of representing the plane as a (metallic) fish that vaults in its waters, that is the celestial space. Of course as a fish it needs no wings, what we see as wings is an illusion.
