Having partaken of this illicit activity numerous times, most often before I was married, I am familar with that feeling afterwards, but it was never as intense a feeling as that first time. Still, adultery can be hazardous to your health, particularly if a husband catches you in the act! When young, I was shot at twice by irate husbands, who fortunately were so mad they couldn't shoot straight! Your poem was very well written and quite expressive and I enjoyed reading it, Sue. Carl.
Not an act one is moved lightly to commit... I feel sorry for those that fall into this relationship.
It is good to see adultery being called what it is with no excuses, instead of lauded. I liked the irony of the last lines in relation to the title.
Well-written observational piece. Sounds like there is an element of suspicion of somebody close behind the words or an experience of betrayal close to home. I hope, of course, this is not the case! A hard subject to write about, whatever the reason, very well handled by a talented writer.
I like that you are not being judgmental here. Just laying out the sordid facts to create the image, with not even a need to know the effect on the reader. I'm glad to have read this.
