I say AMEN! to your poem. I agree 100% with your assessment of our nations's sorry foreign policy. I remember telling someone who was cheering the collapse of Saddam's army in the Second Persian Gulf War that fighting the peace would be harder than fighting the war. I'm no arm-chair military person, but I could SEE that. My colleague just laughed off my concern. Within half a year there was no more laughter. I wrote a rare political poem during the First P. G. War. It's called THE POET SPEAKS. It was inspired by a poet from Iraq who is a man of PEACE. The poem is sad to say still relevant almost twenty years later! !
