@ Noreen Carden, Thanks for sharing your thoughts on my poem. Your nice words are really encouraging.
@Valsa George, Thanks for sharing your thoughts on my poem. Thanks for appreciating the 'special charm' of the poem that tells us of a transcontinental bond, with an unanswered question at the end.
There may be a happy ending, but I hope instead it becomes a happy new cable line. This touches our hearts for-sure.
I believe in happy ending, so I am thinking, they will still get in touch and who knows next- - (I seem to be very affected, funny.)
Were you 'affected', Naida? That's probably my success as a poet! Thank you for reading the poem. Much inspired by your lovely thoughts.
i agree with Valsa.. This is a poem that looks simple, but has the power and charm of its own and I really liked the ending beautiful poem, thanks for sharing friend
Thanks to you too, @Adheez Van Der Beanthz, for reading the poem and leaving your kind thoughts behind. Much inspired.
this could also reflect on two people getting to know each other living in different countries.. today it is easy to connect across countries, nice work
Thank you, @Heather Wilkins, for kindly reading my poem and leaving some of your thoughts here. your comment has inspired me.
They conversed at leisure through submarine cables... this line is excellent. It was a prosaic poem about reality of two - which are connected trough the space, still, not deeply enough. and then what? :)
Very good observation of life. Anyway when 2 person cannot teach each other anymore, they will separate.
I agree with Valsa this poem has charm i love that we are left to make up our own minds about what happened good read well done
This trans continental bond has a rare charm and poignancy! Both being in the last quarter of their lives, when abruptly one lost contact with the other, we can possibly guess what happened! Then what? ? The question remains! ! This poem has a special charm! !
@ Lucifera Santez, Yes, a cliffhanger of sorts. Thanks for reading my poem and leaving your kind words here.
cliffhanger eh? but it was good to read, the story of two lost souls living apart. it was touching. good work again. :)
@ Lisa Rhodes, Thank you very much for reading my poem so soon, within minutes, and for your valuable suggestion. Done.
I find the storyline very interesting. I think I like the poem to end on then what. It seems like a good cliff hanger.
Suddenly one lost contact with the other and as the clock stopped so did their hearts as the rolling seas fell silent.........................
'and as the clock stopped so did their hearts as the rolling seas fell silent.... - so nicely captured the mood of the poem, thank you @Ruth Walters.
