This poetry still has an effect on the reader even though you wrote it 4 years ago. It is a part of you as a poet, and it has artistic value as well. It is true that is a personal and daily issue but it is a wonderful piece of work as well. I hope you are better now and then it would be nice to read it for remembrance. 5 stars with thanks

WARNING! ! ! ! This poem was written in 2016 and posted during a more innocent age. This pandemic world will find nothing amusing in reading this now. Please go pick another selection from my library of poems and avoid the pain this poem might bring you amidst all the fear and panic and deep sorrow over the horrible amount of caskets in the world. God bless you and keep you, my friends.

This is indeed very very interesting! But in this difficult times when Corona is making its virulent hold on people, you would be quarantined and isolated from the whole world. With such symptoms and noice you are sure to scare people away and they would avoid you like plague. Thank God, you had this infection sometime back before the outbreak of Covid 19. This has brought a chuckle to me.

Oh. My. Word. I never thought about this poem sitting on the dusty shelf waiting to be read in todays's fearful world. Thank goodness you noted the date and saw that I was not the meanest cruelest person on the face of the planet. Glad it was able to make you chuckle, thinking of more innocent times in the past. Valsa, you are a delight and I thank God for your presence here on PH.

This brought a smile or four, I don't think I've ever had the privilege of reading a work that poked jokes at respiratory infections, but this has got to be one of the best ones. A Happy disposition is some of the best medicine, and you seem to have the cure for that malady. A walking sound effect isn't a bad profession, it would keep you busy in Hollywood.

I love the hacking cough and descriptive wheezing whistling gasping sound effects in your hilarious poem considering how miserable these symptoms can make you feel. Your sense humor and upbeat disposition is evident throughout this lovely creative gem.

Though this poem contains illness and sickness yet it has full of humour too. The beginning lines... viz... I saw the Doctor and she saw me she poked and prodded listened and frowned and told me at last I have Bronchitis with Wheezing.... are much interesting and funny. All lines are interesting to read and this can cure the illness of readers. Very beautiful poem shared. Thank u dear Susan, may God nourish your poetic thoughts.

Feeling much better, thank you, though my husband now is in the throes of a cold so I may soon be felled by a different malady! I enjoy injecting humor in some situations because I truly don't want to come off whining! Thank you for reading and commenting, Glen!

Susan, I laughed my way through this whole piece. I LOVE the sound effects count, too line. Absolutely hilarious. How a poem with all of the various descriptors of phlegm and its attendant sound effects could come across so delightfully charming is a testament to your wonderful writing. Thank you for the great laugh, Susan! (hope you're doing better) :) S

I am pleased to have given you a big joyful laugh- - there is something so satisfying in the act of giving a person a moment of laughter, a spark of joy, a bit of a lasting smile in the heart that may be going through some dark and grueling times. Your comment on this piece just did the same to me. Thank you for the awesome encouragement. I also like to write the serious but sometimes wonder if writing the goofy stuff cheapens my stature as a poet [an aspiring poet] [a journeyman poet] [a nerdberkle of a poet! ] You just put those thoughts to rest- -thank you!

Ohhh, susan bronchitis is so troublesome. I also catch cold easily. So i can relate with it perfectly. The best thing about this write is the humorous tone of the poem. It's a skill. Reader can't help smiling. Innovative, gripping write. A perfect 10.

It is a troublesome illness- -get it bad just one time and it will threaten to return with every minor cold and sniffle. Many years ago my horse's corral was ankle deep in mud from melting snow so I began shoveling it out- -I'm guessing a 40X25 foot corral- -it was winter and it was cold but I got hot and worked up a sweat and took off my coat- - and during the night I had high fevers and went to the doctor and he said bronchitis and ever since then I try very hard to not do stupid things that would lead to bronchitis. Thank you, Nosheen, You make me feel better about writing humorous pieces- -I do like to make people laugh! And thank you for the 10.

Hi Susan, As an acute bronchitis patient, with wheezing, sinusitis et al, I can clearly understand, what kind of picture I could be to look at, especially in winter. But to look at oneself, with a smile on the lips is fantastic. The smile on the lips while reading the first few lines, I saw the Doctor and she saw me she poked and prodded listened and frowned and told me at last I have Bronchitis with Wheezing...... grows into an unending laughter as we go ahead. Nice work..10++

I am pleased that you, a chronic bronchitis sufferer, enjoyed a few laughs at this piece. Sometimes there just isn't anything else to do but to laugh at the not-so-funny- - our way of declaring victory over it I suppose. Thank you for reading and commenting and giving this a 10! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

So much great humour in a topic that is so serious. I have to confess that when I read the title, I thought the poem might be about trains. I was surprised, and in a great way. Another perfect 10!
