Academic Nuisance! Poem by DOMINIC PREMPEH

Academic Nuisance!

Rating: 5.0

Back to Accra
Back to academic life
Been out for a while
But I've got to face it
Reality stares at me straight
Saying "welcome to stress"
I instantly forget hope
And meekly kowtow
For this is our new world
The world of 'neo'
Neo-colonialism, neo-liberalism, neo…
And neo-theorization
Pushing us to the dominant paradigm
Bundled to us without our concern
For they feel our black African brain is vacuum
Oh the African student
I learn and learn and learn nuisance
