You said until death do we part

Honestly poignant poem, it may help others to know they are not alone if they're in an abusive relationship. Good to express and get it out there. Thank you for sharing.

This is what is known as a 'toxic kind of relationship'... but what I had to comment on was how the remarks made by Chuck Petz made me howl with laughter: (1/19/2009 5: 36: 00 AM) 'Has to be told. I thought I was in love like that once, but I hit myself in the head with a rubber mallet and it went away.' Now that's funny! ... but your poem was sad.

If this be your story and not anothers or poetic musings, then my fellow wordsmith may I say to you, 'Give Pound and Crown and Guinnie, but keep your fancy free.' Please sub. the word soul for the word fancy. Let no love have the kind of hold that this poem, tho so well penned, speaks of. With the very best wishes for you, JDJ

Very, very sad. I have no experience of abusive relationships, thankfully, but I read and this strikes a chord. Well penned.

Has to be told. I thought I was in love like that once, but I hit myself in the head with a rubber mallet and it went away.

This is so true in so many many women today, unfortantly. This is a good write and describes too many women and children affected by this kind of dysfunctional love... Very good.! ! Bonnie

Unfortunately there are many women who have the same story to tell. Way too many. So sad and a good time to move on. I know you have and thank goodness! '10! ' Warm Wishes, Marilyn
