A highly thought provoking poem. So many evils exist in our society because people are indifferent. They just don't care about what's happening around that needs to be thwarted. Thanks and congrats. The poem is added to the list of my favorites.. ** how many die / because people turn a blind eye

Turning blind eye to abuse is tantamount to aiding and abetting injustice. An insightful piece of poetry elegantly brought forth with conviction. Thanks for sharing Dave.

This is the truth. Too many people have been turning blind eye and letting the innocent suffer. It's this lack of social consciousness that is growing every day. Congratulations for such great poem of social awareness and it's just place.

Abstract generalities without a hook to make me really feel what it is you're motivated by. This poem was written four years ago. I have no idea what has been in the news a lot for the past few weeks. My first thought was the American government's platitude of See something say something that's had some currency in relation to fighting terrorism. But without a heartfelt anchor, an image, a concrete reference to actual affairs its all just so many words. Sorry, I'm just not moved.
