Absence Of Love Poem by Terry Searcy

Absence Of Love

Rating: 5.0

The stabbing of loneliness eats away at my soul
Pressed by the daily tasks of life that leads into slow death
The laughter of the dark is stifling and
The words the slipped from your tongue
Kill my very existence
The insults are the price of the darkening world I breathe in and out daily
The laughter is pungent and dissolves my being
The touch of humanity melts at my door
The lights bleed into the night
The shadows move through my room with a coriographed motion
My mind sweeps through each moment like a chaotic ocean
I am perplexed in the decay of our society
Where judges are bribed, public servants are more corrupt. Then the drug dealers in our own neighborhoods
A flower rises from the ruins and opens her beautiful pedals
A smile appears and the darkness is removed
The sun brightens my path and warms my face
The sun brings in hope to a decaying world
For every action there is a reaction, but if you do not react at all the action withers and dies
This is true belief
Only give your energy to what is good
