Today I shall tell you a terrifying tale,
The day I decided to do an abseil.
At the top of the building I was frozen in fright,
Trying not to look down at the gargantuan hight.
The crowd below held a collective breath,
Wondering If i will plummet down to my death.
Minutes seem like hours, hours seem like days,
The ground beneath me is all but a haze.
I yell at the people above me to pull me back up,
If i fall I shall hit the ground with one hell of a thump.
My heart is firmly lodged in my throat,
It's so cold up here I wish I'd worn a coat!
I finally get the courage to work my way down,
I try not to cry as I'm watched by all of the town!
At last my feet touch the floor,
Straight away to myself I swore,
To never again do such a frightening deed,
Sheer madness I can't believe I'd ever agreed!
