i find it fascinating that a man would claim to know so much about abortion. It's trite that you let your own personal feelings about the subject at hand become political and a moral issue. It's an issue for women.
Although I absolutely and whole heartedly disagree with your position on this matter, everyone has a right to believe what they believe and certainly a right to write about it. But, should you ask yourself the following 'what if' questions first. You will receive MUCH flack for this poem, be ready. 1. What if your daughter (hypothetical or not) got raped by a lunatic with HIV 2. What if you yourself got pregnant at age 13. 3. What if someone in your own family sexually abused you. There are so many what if questions. I'm not trying to change your mind, I wouldn't dare do that, but shouldn't we always look at both sides of the coin? Never judge a person until you've walked two moons in their moccasins. (that's actually the title of a children's book I just read) . Just food for thought. Powerfully fueled poem. Ashley
I like poems with a little structure - like a drum beat? But share your sentiment and frustrations. Thanks. The discussion is far from over and settled, with a societal issue as parents murdering their own offspring.
