Abject Terror Poem by soren Barrett

Abject Terror

An inky droplet of sunset spreads its oily chill through the clear pool of night
sending shuddering shivers in swelling breakers of frenetic darkness, toe to chin
Black doubt's frost, beads on quivering thorns of icy, suffocating, fright
Desperation's spectral phantoms clothed in frozen polluted shadows of what might have been

Piercing crystal slivers of frigid fear, puncture a barren plain of sterile white
Thoughts and muscles imprisoned behind ice bars of an immobilized mind
buried in burning snows of paranoia's contagious, infected bite
fantastic panic erupts from ruptured frostbitten blisters of a false portent blind
