Abbey House Gallery I Poem by Michael Eugene Cantrall

Abbey House Gallery I

Well, this is quite beyond comprehension
I slipped into soft sleep and awoke here
After hours, in Abbey House Gallery

Gracious heavens
Something is quite amiss
That's my oval mirror

And that's a tintype of me
And what is this?
A card on my writing desk says

Price available upon request

How peculiar,
My armoire's over there
And I can read that sign in the window

Don't Miss It!
Estate Sale
Friday - Nine Until Noon

This does not bode well
How may this shadowed moment
Ever spring from sleep?

Perhaps you can sense me
Ensconced within a display case
After hours at Abbey House Gallery
