O perhaps we'll rediscover Gaia's green ways?
Perhaps we'll revive Springtime's warm and sacred blood;
And cultivate gardens amidst deserts and waste:
To prevent the dark coming of fire and flood.
What shall we do with our brief but precious days?
Will we balance primal needs with our modern wants?
Will we set ourselves free from pollution's haze:
Before the dreaded coming of fire and flood?
I think not. For fire and rain are both necessary for the green to flourish again. Nice hopeful poem full of possibilities.

Thanks Michael...so why all the worry over the last few decades about the ice caps melting...? ! ! ! Surely this would cause ecological disaster on a massive scale and the certain death of the human race as we know it! ! My poem is essentially about the need for balance in nature...obviously the elements: earth, fire, water, air are an essential aspect of nature but I don't want to experience some of their more insidious extremes..that'swhy balance is necessary.
