Just the other day i was contemplating the question of what it is that all women want. Although each woman is different; what is the universal quality that they are all looking for? I arrived at the conclusion that they all want security; whether it be financial, emotional or physical security. This poem has confirmed my belief. Thanks for a nice poem and for answering my question.

Apart from the external security threats and concerns spreaded throughout the world, I think its a sense of feeling, love and carefulness inside the heart and the mind of a woman that makes herself secure. Good write, Elaine. Best Wishes Naseer

Reading this, I was thinking that a man might use a different word other than security to describe what he wants out of life. I believe that a man wants contentment. That is what he craves in life. Just contentment. A nicely written call for security from a female perspective. Three cheers from me. Hooray, hooray, hooray. GW62

Elaine, as all your poems, this is an amazing one combining food both for heart and mind. Here I agree with the comment of Ata Khan on that point. A caring and devoted heart provides a feeling of security for another one who seeks for it. In a modern world of constant instability in all senses of this word this is something that any person needs..10+++ and big thanks for sharing. Best wishes. A.

How easily you expressed the concerns of a woman. As much as i have come to know a woman, she doesn't need anything more than a true, loving heart. That is the only sense of security for her. If she has a true lover, she can live on her half bread daily for rest of her life, But if she doesn't have this security then billions and billions of rupees cant make her feel secure, Good one Elaine A 10 for sure

Very good take on what Security means when you are 'Woman'. I often ponder this question myself and your final lines are the best we can do. taking responsibility for our own security, may seem futile in a man's world, but it is a step in the right direct that all women should make. Peace of mind is what it is all about, not to feel threatened just because you are a woman, rather than a man who generally have the strength to overpower most women. I see it all the time in ths tiny cornish part of my world that I inhabit. Little respect for women or their traditional roles, I try to teach my three boys that we women have the same god given rights to be heard and respected, as men. I hope they take that lesson into their futures and makes some lucky women, very happy in every deed as they proceed. Great poem, nice to meet your work Smiling at you Tai
