A Widow, If Not By Death's Word Poem by james watkin

A Widow, If Not By Death's Word

A widow, if not by Death's word
By as final a silence
The beloved one's distance communicates.
With another world's equates!

And widowhood, if not putting on
Through muffled shock, pale mourning
Are those symptoms wept out, the Beloved Dead
A heaven or hell, accorded.
