This is a MANIFESTO but it's not just a simple, direct statement and it's done for good. For every assertion you make there is a qualifying tug backward which compromises the forward motion. But I think that's good; it shows your attitude toward your attitude is a critical one and not a surrender to blind emotional commitment. It may well pan out that the hesitations which whisper in this poem prove to be more important than the assertions which shout. It's too early to tell. The feelings are still raw. This is, after all, a three-am-in-the-morning-poem and by its very nature it is a first step or several steps but not the whole journey.
