A Welcome Respite Comments

Rating: 5.0

Turning sideways, once more I lay crouched in bed
Not compelled to wake up and run round the clock
The family, gone on a four day trip
Left all to myself, may I devour this calm with none to block

After a cool night’s blissful rest I woke up feeling full of zest To take up routine chores without haste And venture on a day’s audacious quest! .....haunting expression. A beautiful poem so nicely executed.10

A wonderful poem in praise of respite and the pleasure of having to be yourself with just nothing to do. What treasured moments of peace! Sometimes reality has a rude way of walking in to disrupt that much wanted calm.

The dear and near ones continue to influence us and they fill the void of life often felt otherwise. But when alone we can fill that void quite meaningfully as well. A truth emerging from within the intimate thoughts has been well expressed Madam

ur poem truly shows how busy we get with our routine chores with time flying fast without realising that we are getting old.....remember those carefree days when we were kids, had no responsibilities et all n wander where ever we want to, without any tension.....yes sometimes we feel to have some personal space, n be only with ourselves without any deadlines.........very rightly said n applicable to a woman To skip a meal and close down the kitchen, To hum and sing in gay abandon as this moment hardly comes in our day to day life! very well written.......

We all need some time and space to ourselves, after which we welcome back and appreciate our loved ones. Very well written Valsa, an excellent poem with some lovely lines.
