HO HO HO! Merry X-mas etc. Savita, i like BOTH VERSIONS, but the second is much more 'limerick-like'. however, i want to see to moved down to the fourth line in the new version! ! ha ha. to MyPoemList and NOW i'll have to make room for both versions in the January showcase! ! ! bri :) thanks, Valsa-child, for supporting syllable count. hee-hee. as for making the poem bawdy, i too might have trouble doing it, BUT.............i might try! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

This is a fine limerick, Savita. But I agree with what Bri has written! I too never used to care for the syllable count, but it was Bri who insisted that I should stick to the pattern! Thanks to Bri... now I am careful! You can also follow his advice!

i HAVE (i think) heard that there is no water on Mars (but ice does exist, according to scientists) , so that explains why waterless-cakes ARE made. but does Mars have eggs, milk, wheat flour, and CHOCOLATE, THE KEY INGREDIENTS needed to make MY CAKE? ? If not, I won’t be visited Mars anytime soon! I think they have sugar (from Mars’ sugar beets) and baking soda and baking powder (imported from Venus) . Bri ;)

Not to put a damper on a friend's poem, but i don't understand the use of gear. i think appear would be nice. .......................And the poem does not follow the structure often given for a limerick, especially that the 3rd and 4th lines are to be shorter than each of lines 1,2, and 5. the rhythm seems nice enough, and the rhyming as well. i read Muzahidul's poem; his is a limerick to me.

hahhahahahahahahah- - I think I'll be thinking of your waterless cake now whenever Mars pops up in a conversation and people will wonder about me when I start giggling. Thank you for a light verse to brighten a cold winter day!
