Lonnie, this is a great poem. Remiscent of some of the best poems from the anti-(Vietnam) war work. The use of flowers as a metaphor is great as it gives the poem a multi-layered approach (horticulture being a popular metaphor for poetry) . i'm not sure that the last line works as it seems to be a repetition. But an impressive piece indeed.
