A Waking Dream Poem by Shaun Cronick

A Waking Dream

Rating: 5.0

A waking dream I am trapped in,
For I cannot find the exit door.
Flashes of freedom fill my mind,
I have dreamed this dream before.

In the middle of exactly nowhere,
Torn between these two worlds am I.
I won't capitulate and accept my fate,
For I will wildly fight before I die.

These two choices for which I'm given,
Do I deem to give up or never give in.
The providence of time has final say,
It will wisely decide if I lose or if I win.
