Really a stunning work on elections. I have no words to utter. Rule 49o, let every one evoke. But here in A.P. one party (Lok Satta) established by an IAS officer(Dr.Jayaprakash Narayana) is vigourously propegating not to accept alcohol and money from contestants and vote. But his party may hardly get one seat in the elections. Once Moraji Desai commented that 'Jaise janta vaise sarkaar' People want a corrupt Govt. How can a Samanyan or a Sathyanarayanan can can help? ? ?

The same comment for the other poem applies. One point- if the entire world cries that the world has gone bad and mad, where is the solution for any recovery? What we all need is a prayer for a better tomorrow. The world will be like this with ups and downs but let us not curse it to go to depths out of our distress. This can only induce more negativism. We all can pray from our heart of hearts. It will definitely have a say. Remember, it is our 'Samkalpas' which actually shape this world and our destiny. Let our 'Samkalpas' be pure and light. Otherwise, our next generation will be growing without receiving any good thought from us. That is still dangerous. Let us not damage our future.

I very well understand the problem! In the electronic voting machine itself an empty slot should be provided to cast our negative votes too! Nice to read your 49 o!

Excellent satire. In a democracy, everyone must be allowed to speak. And you definately have a right to your opinion.10, for you. Kind regards, Sandra

My dear friend, I can understand your disenchantment, but invalidating or giving up your vote is not legitimate, desirable or democratic, thought it is certainly not illegal. Until a better form of government evolves, democracy is the best; and until you have another mode of electing your government, we will be wise to abide by the present system. Conveniently trying to score out and eliminate each and everyone leads to a paranoid and cynical mind in every aspect. Make the best out of the bargain available. The socalled intellectuals and intelligentsia simply delight in rubbishing the evils and persons, but they don't care themselves to plunge into action to better the scenario. Outright defamation sans acceptance of responsibility and constructive attitude carries us nowhere. The world keeps on moving, despite us, and we will, ultimately, be left out. So I will be happy if you duly exercise your franchise, just as I will be doing mine. When my name was missing, I laboured through the formalities and have got it back. I sincerely feel, our vote is invaluable, for all the faults in the system. And if given to introspection, we will know how imperfect are we ourselves in many aspects. Every cloud has a silver lining. Best regards.

This is like a newspaper column itself. Written with a personal and entertaining flair that I like. Its truth has been manifest from long ago in the history of mankind. The trouble with mankind is not that their laws are bad, it is that the ones they have are not enforced equally on the poor and the well to do. GW62

A good satirical approach But vote or no vote, it is purchased thru that 10C. It is true in this sub-continent and hence we face no recession. We are born with scam grow with scam and die with scam.So I give you 10 (no c) not politically. Poetically also there are scope for development.-Rajkumar

It is difficult to forecast at this stage as to what will happen after the elections are over in India.
