A Voice For Feminism Poem by DOMINIC PREMPEH

A Voice For Feminism

Talk for they that have no say, writer!
For you are their mouthpiece!

Oppression,
Accusation,
Rape
Fear
Early marriage
And anxiety
Dominate their lives
Amidst the beaming smiles.

Women keep foetus in their bellies
Grind for nine months and perilously give birth
Then stay awake, all night
Singing lullabies to ‘stubborn' babies
Just for the continuity of the world

Women shamelessly do odd jobs
Go the extra mile and compromise their health
And still keep the smile of hope

Help shout aloud
Let the world know
Feminism is a title
Earned through creation
And feminism is a proud culture
Bestowed by nature to admire
