A Vanishing Sight Poem by Akham Nilabirdhwaja Singh

A Vanishing Sight

From a lonely country road,
riding a bicycle
I saw at the distance
a young couple in traditional
ceremonial dress
in the golden sunlight
of the evening
crossing the wide
brown winter paddy field;
they might be returning home.
The beauty of the sight vanishing
in the setting sun
captured in the mind.
