A superb life song, full of expectations from dear one and conviction that the same would not be fulfilled. A great classic poem of the day.

You shall have chocolates to eat Of every possible description; Those rosy lips are much too sweet To soil with Yankee or Egyptian. Your smiles with trinkets I'll entice Or silly frillies made of chiffon, Till once again you say I'm nice And not a griffon. fantastic poem shared great 10++++++++++++++++++++

Fascinating that this anti smoking poem dates before the big campaigns and all of the medical research showed the harmful effects of smoking. A pretty forward poem.

I wonder when this poem was written. It must be courageous to go against norm when all the films and media out were promoting smoking by women.

A GREAT anti-smoking poem- that Everybody should read as a teen to curtail them from the noxious habit of smoking which I can admit screwed my life up for awhile and just turned me into that 'kind of person' who 'does that'.' Had I read this, I might have been warned!

An appeal even to a dear one to renounce addiction like smoking goes in vain. A beautiful melody on that theme is a well deserved classic poem of the Day.
